Handley Page Halifax B Mk III 427 Sqn RCAF. The Handley Page Halifax was one of the three heavy bombers at the disposal of the Royal Air Force Bomber Command during the Second World War. Along with it's contemporaries, the Lancaster and Stirling, the Halifax shouldered the brunt of the bomber offensive against occupied Europe. This version of the Halifax served with 427 "Lion" Squadron, 6 Group, Royal Canadian Air Force, based at RAF Leeming in Yorkshire. The squadron was sponsored by MGM Studios. by Keith Clifford
