| Date Unknown: Ordered first as a Mk. 2, converted to prototype Mk. 4 before first flight. Aircraft had been scheduled for conversion to prototype Mk. 2P photo reconnaisance version, but this project was cancelled.[RWR Walker] 1952 September 5: Taken on strength as RCAF 18112[Canadian Military Aircraft 1920-1968, J.A. Griffin], before first flight?.[RWR Walker] 1Indefinte loan to A V Roe.[Canadian Military Aircraft 1920-1968, J.A. Griffin] 1952 October 11: First flight.[RWR Walker] Used by Avro Canada for development trials from Malton, Ontario, Canada. Coded "FB*S" for company trials.[RWR Walker] 1952 December: Taken to Mach 1.06 by Jan Zurakowski {Avro test pilot}.[RWR Walker] 1954 January: Used for first belly pack rocket firings on test stand.[RWR Walker] 1954 February 11: First aerial firing. Struck in nose by rocket during these firing tests, landed safely.[RWR Walker] 1954 August 23: Crashed near Ajax, Ontario, Canada, following in flight explosion probably resulting from fuel leaks produced by heavy buffetting when modified rocket pallet was lowered.
